The Ann Arbor Police Department (AAPD) said that bomb threats phoned in to two schools on Monday, Oct. 5, were not credible.
Officers evacuated remaining students and staff at Slauson Middle School and found nothing suspicious during a search, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Slauson Middle School and Ann Arbor Open K-8 both received the threats by phone that afternoon, according to MLive and The Michigan Daily. Officers responded to Slauson after 3 p.m., according to AAPD spokesperson Chris Page, as The Michigan Daily reported.
Classes at Slauson had already ended for the day when officers arrived. As a precaution, they evacuated remaining students and staff still inside the building.
During that investigation, officers learned Ann Arbor Open K-8 had received a similar threat at approximately the same time, according to the police account reported by ClickOnDetroit.
Neither threat contained specific details, the department said in a statement posted to Facebook on Oct. 5. Both described a "what if" scenario, according to The Michigan Daily’s report of the statement.
In its Oct. 5 statement, police said the investigation remained active and the department was working with Ann Arbor Public Schools.
The department asked anyone with information to call 734-794-6920, email [email protected] or submit an anonymous tip through Silent Witness, according to ClickOnDetroit.
